Birds with Healing Words in Arizona!

Billy's Place of the West Valley Glendale, Arizona Thank you so much to Terry Murphy with Soulful Sydney for choosing Billy's Place to receive this meaningful tool for our Billy's Place kids, and for coordinating with our generous sponsor the Valley of the Sun Rotary Passport Club. Adam Katz, Rotary member, recently visited Billy's Place to see the Healing Chickadees in action. Adam has a very special nonprofit called The Doreen Katz Memorial in honor of his wife who died of cancer so he is heavily involved in supporting the grief community.

When Terry was just 10 years old, her 16 year old brother died suddenly. Individually and as a family they stumbled and crumbled. She created a sweet program for children that are on the journey of grieving the death of a loved one.

The flock of birds are called the Tweet-Hearts and they will bring stories that support, educate and comfort a child who has experienced the death of a loved one.

Developed with a psychotherapist, the birds bring a monthly message of hope and love. The activities and stories are designed to promote communication and healing for the whole family.

Speaking through sweet bird characters, The Healing Chickadee may assist a grieving child. Each new child who comes to Billy's Place will be receiving a Healing Chickadee to bring them comfort and hope.
